About Prepare and Be Safe

Emergencies and disasters have unique challenges for Victorians from multicultural communities.

This resource was created by ECCV as part of the Victorian Government's Multicultural Emergency Management Initiative, to improve preparedness for emergencies and disasters in Victoria amongst our multicultural communities.

Prepare and Be Safe provides information about what to do in emergency situations and the organisations that can support Victorians in an emergency or disaster.

ECCV would like to acknowledge the Hume City Council and their contribution of materials produced in the English and emergencies— Learn and Prepare program.

The content is designed specifically for newly arrived migrants and written in four languages. Migrants can use this website to easily access safety information about their new home, learn safety related vocabulary, and be prepared to act in emergency and disaster situations.

ECCV would also like to thank and acknowledge the numerous agencies, organisations and emergency services that generously assisted with their input, assistance and resources throughout the development and delivery of the project.
