What is an emergency?

A 000 emergency is when:

  • Someone is badly hurt or very sick
  • Somebody's life is in danger
  • There is a crime happening
  • There is a serious accident
  • Someone is drowning
  • There is a fire in your home or near your home
Means sinking in water and needs help

Call 000 first in an emergency.

That’s the number zero zero zero.

The sooner you call 000, the sooner help will arrive.

Call 000 before you call a relative, neighbour or friend.

The emergency services will help anyone in need. It doesn’t matter where you are from, or your visa status!
