Get safety help from the police

The police can help in an emergency.

I know it can be a bit scary to call the police.

But, they can be trusted, and there is no shame in calling the police in Australia.

Call 000 and ask for the police if:

  • You believe your life is in danger
  • You witness a crime
  • You witness a serious accident

Common situations where the police can help:

  • If someone robs you
  • If someone is violent toward you or your family
  • If you are in a car accident
  • If you lose a valuable item in a public place

When people find lost items (like phones and car keys), they take them to a police station. Then you can go to a police station to find your lost item.
